I am a sucker for some good smelling nature with views, and that's exactly what Dawson Lake is.
If you have a way to get your bike there, be prepared to ride some hills. This isn't your typical flat Illinois bike ride. Your calves will be burning. With that being said, smaller children may struggle with the hills.
Tail Timber Trail is another option that will get you outside and inhaling the fresh air. It is 1.5 miles and winds through the trees.
